Julia and three of her friends went on an adventure at the end of last week. They got up really early one morning and took off to Mack,CO, a little spot just down the road from Grand Junction, CO. They spent the day at the Country Jam, country music festival. They purchased their tickets for it months ago, long before Julia knew that we would be going to the CMA fest in Nashville. So, this was a little anti-climatic, but it was still lots of fun to get away with good friends. And they did get to hear several country music artists, including one of Julia's favorites, Brad Paisley. We heard him in Nashville, but he sang for almost 2 hours at Country Jam, so that was lots of fun for her! They also heard Jake Owen, Jack Ingram, Taylor Swift and Phil Vassar. They were supposed to hear Kellie Pickler (from American Idol), but she was sick and didn't appear. Julia was glad that she had seen her at CMA Fest. Country Jam got out fairly late and it was about a 5 hour drive home, so, we had arranged for them to spend the night in a hotel. They slept in a bit the next morning and then headed on home. Fun times!
Not much going on other than that. Julia wasn't able to find a summer job, so in addition to her normal chores, she has been working hard doing extra chores for pay here at home (the tough ones like window washing, weeding, etc.) She has been working super hard. She also went up to Girl's camp for a couple of days this week.
Other than that we are just anxiously awaiting our new babies. Once Taylor is born Nicole's mother will go stay with them for a bit, and I will come a little later. Then, Julia and Scott will join us just in time for Paul and Nicole's graduation. Then we will all head back down to SLC to visit parents. From there it will be off to Cedar City to see Joanna, Cory and Gabe. And then once Baby Ellis arrives I will go back to Cedar City to spend a little time to help out. Exciting times! Can't wait!
Well, congratulations to Alicia and Justin. We could'nt be more excited about your marriage. Wish we could have all been there to be a part of it. Take care and everyone have a great week.

Ok, I'm a total dork. When I first glanced at the picture with the 4 of you and Brad Paisley I thought - WAIT! She never told me she met him!!! :) Guess I just need to look a little closer....yup - I'm still your dorky sister....
It's okay, Joanna, I thought that it was him for a minute too. But the other day I saw that cut out at Walmart, and thought, he likes that pose I guess :)

Sounds like Julia's having a fun and busy summer! Its neat that you've all gotten to enjoy so much live music and action. Thanks for sharing too. Sorry its been so hot, everyone I talk to in that area says its just been HOT even in places its not usually so hot.
