The Concert

Well, Carrie Underwood has been my all-time favorite musician practically since the day she tried out for American Idol, so when Mom bought tickets to her concert for me and my two best friends Candace and Morgan, I was SOO excited! I'd been looking forward to the concert for months, and it ended up being AWESOME!

When we got there, we realized that our seats were way far away from the stage, but we called a friend who had seats on the 6th row and he hooked us up. We had him bring his parent's tickets to us, so we could get in on the floor, but when we got there, we had a problem finding seats, because obviously, his parents were sitting in them. (Actually they had an extra ticket, so morgan stayed with him the whole night) So Candace and I wandered around for a couple minutes trying to find a good seat. It was a problem because the security guards were constantly clearing the aisles, so we had to find somewhere to sit. Luckily, we ran into my friends Megan and Casey, and they had extra empty seats next to them on the 14th row. The view was still great, but when we got there, Candace was like "Why don't we just go up to the front for a while?" So we just walked right on up to the very front row, and sat down RIGHT in front of her. It was awesome, because the security didn't say anything, and we sat there for quite a few of her songs. It was crazy, I was within arms reach of my favorite celebrity! Haha, we were all pretty star struck. :)

I feel really bad though, because Ben didn't have a ticket to bring for Mom, so she spent the concert by herself, far away. :( When Carrie sang her song Don't Forget To Remember Me (a song about a mom and daughter, when the daughter goes off to college), I felt so bad, because I would've loved to be there with Mom when she sang it.

Anyway, I had read on the internet, that if you wait about 30-45 minutes after the concert, Carrie usually comes out and signs autographs at the merchandise table, so I convinced everyone to stay after. It was kinda funny, because some of the security people were telling everyone to go home because Carrie wouldn't be appearing, and about 3/4 of the people left. But we stayed and she came out pretty fast, and we all got to meet her. I felt kinda silly, because Morgan and Candace and I were acting like little kids, because we were SO excited. When we got up to her, I said something like "So yeah, I TOTALLY voted for you every single night on American Idol", and she just kinda smiled and said thanks. Then she signed my shirt from the concert and my cd, and took a picture with me.

Later, we spent the night at Candace's grandparents house, and the 3 of us girls had a fun little sleepover, and stayed up till about 4 in the morning. What a blast!

Thanks for the awesome night Mom! and sorry to all of you if this post is pretty boring. If you don't know who she is, you should definitely look her up. She has an amazing voice!
