Here are a few shots of Paul getting the Christmas Eve luminarias lit. Brrrr!! It was really cold. Julia and I got them all set out and then he went around and lit the candles. I didn't get any pics once it got dark, but hopefully you can imagine what it looks like. We always light them before dark and then head off to the Christmas Eve celebration and come back to their beautiful glow. The legend says that luminarias are lit to light the way for the Christ Child. One of my favorite New Mexican traditions.
I got a pinata and filled it with candy and then forgot to have a pinata party. Maybe tomorrow morning before everyone leaves...or maybe I will save it for another year. It's a bummer getting older and more forgetful.
Here are a few more random shots from Christmas Eve and morning.

Brrr is probably subjective. It has been zero or below for 10 days. Last night and this morning it was 22 below.
They had to shut the tubing hill down one evening because 2 kids got frost bite on one run down the hill.
I love that you do the luminarias every year. I have always wanted to make them out of ice - you freeze water in ice cream containers until it is almost frozen all the way thru. Then when you tip it upside down - there is a cup for the little candle. I've never done them, but I think about them, especially when I see yours.
It looks like you had a great celebration. I love the giant Curious George. I can see i'm going to have a tough time when i have little ones to shop for.
Love you guys, Charlotte
