*I(re)joined Weight Watchers last week. Thanks for the inspiration, Joanna! My first weigh-in was today, and I am down 4.2 lbs. Hooray! Ahhh...if it could be that easy every week. I really enjoyed the feeling of being back in control of my life and also enjoyed my daily walks. I am trying to walk about 55 minutes/day, which ends up being just under 4 miles. I try to do it in the early morning hours, before it is too hot. When it gets darker and colder, I will move over to the College Fitness Center. I may move my workout over there soon anyway, because then I can add the weight machines. For now, I am enjoying the outdoors.

*2 I just finished my first packet for my Family Processes Class that I am currently taking from BYU. This class requires hundreds of pages (literally) of writing. I signed up for this class in January and here I am just finishing my first assignment...10 more to go, in addition to two midterms and a final. I'd better speed things up a bit, don't you think. Ahhh! Why did I do this to myself?

*3 Scott and I celebrated our 30 year anniversary on Tuesday. Wow, where did the time go??? We are so grateful for the support and love that our family and friends have shown us through these 30 years. You have been a part of the joy we have experienced through the years. We are so blessed with wonderful families of origin and marvel at the beautiful children and grandchildren we have been blessed to enjoy. How did we get from there to here, in such a short amount of time?

*4 Some dear friends of ours from our days in Orem, Bev and Nigel Bristow were here in Farmington on business earlier this week. They came by for a visit on Monday evening and then on Tuesday I took Bev on a several hour adventure to the cabin at Vallecito and to Durango. It was a beautiful day and I so enjoyed the time spent catching up with Bev!
*5 On Tuesday Scott swam what he estimates to be his 3,000th mile! What's Michael Phelps got on my sweetie? Julia and I headed down to the pool to record it for posterity. We were having a hard time getting a good shot. She's got some better ones than I do, but she's not here right now. So, maybe we'll post more on this later.
Congrats, Scott!
*6 We continue to enjoy the 2008 Olympics...although it will be nice to get some sleep again when they are over. Every night I tell myself it's OK to miss some...that I can go to bed before 11-12. But,nearly every night I get sucked in to watching until the bitter end.

WOW - what a busy, diverse, fun week. Good job on the weight loss. Maybe at this rate we will be back in shape for London in 2012.
The BYU class sounds challenging, but fun. All those late nights when you used to stay up with your teenagers can be spent doing your homework now. How close are you??
Good job Scott on the swimming. I envy your persistence and consistantancy. Two of my greatest weaknesses. I just can never focus on one task for that long.
Love you guys lots, Charlotte
thanks for posting!
great to hear from you...
YAY! on the weight loss! J.E.A.L.O.U.S. I'm proud of you! My only advice is this: stay away from those WICKED peanut butter bars of burnin' love. Holy Mother of Pearl. Just thinking about them makes me salivate (and gain weight!).
I miss you! Seriously- like, a lot.
Fun story from church today... eh, well, I'll just call tomorrow. Want to chat with you anyway.
But remind me: about Nancy (Nancy?) Ballentyne's memory of Scott. (Beth's sister-in-law,right??)
