The Toad from Vavode??
When our kids were little they used to love for me to read to them from the Dr. Seuss collection of books. One of the characters in one of his books (I am not sure which one at the moment)was called the Toad from Vavode. Well, I think that the Toad from Vavode may have possibly paid us a visit today. In fact, this is the second year in a row that he has shown up in our yard about this time of year. He blends right in to the rock out in front, over by our recycling can. I almost stepped on him with bare feet this afternoon. I caught a little movement out of the corner of my eye, and this is what I saw...

He's back!? Are you sure it's the same one? Maybe we'll get to see him next week?

I keep forgetting to show Gabe this picture. I need to remember, he'd be even more excited to come and visit you guys if he knew there were toads to chase after! we'll have to keep it a secret until we can schedule a time to come visit!
I told Gabe that this picture was taken in Gramma Rhien's yard - right in front of the house. He "lock the door!"

The little guy looks bigger and scarier in this picture than he is in "person". He is only about 2 1/2 inches long...so not to be feared. He probably looks like a big monster to Gabe. Hope he'll still come to visit some time. :)
