CHAOS!

Just a quick update on this chaos we call life...we are presently in the demolition stage of our kitchen remodel. We have emptied out the kitchen, and moved everything into Julia's bedroom. Sorry Julia. It's only temporary.

We have removed most of the wallpaper, although there are still areas where that continues to be an issue. I am pretty sure that the previous owners applied that border with cement. NONE of the tried and true tricks have worked. We have also removed the tile countertops. Scott lovingly took care of that while I was in Cedar City a couple of weeks ago. And today we started taking the cupboards out. Scott is waiting for Cory to help him finish that job.

Cory and Joanna are on their way from Utah today, with our new cabinets. And we have a crew scheduled to start the cabinet installation on Monday morning. It will possibly be a few weeks before we have the countertops in place. In the meantime we need to finish with the wallpaper removal and painting preparation and get it painted. And then we will finish it off with new flooring. My hope is that it will be DONE before Thanksgiving. Ugh! It will be nice to have it done, but these next couple of weeks could prove to be ULTRA challenging. Keep us in your thoughts. We'll keep you updated from time to time. And will post more pictures during the process. Wish us luck!

Wow - looks like a huge project! I can't wait to see what it looks like when you are done. Now that I've been to your house too, I can better picture what you're doing - its fun! Love you- good luck.

It's funny - that is not at all what I thought your kitchen looked like. Now I can't wait to see the new one.

I can so relate to the idea of not having a kitchen until Thanksgiving. Our carpet is supposed to come that week - and we still don't have the tile done yet. YIKES !! We might both be nuts before Christmas gets here. LOVE YOU - and good luck. Love charlotte

Good luck with the new kitchen installation!

We hope you don't have too many crazy issues during the demolition/construction.

Best of luck.

Our kitchen got the Wed afternoon before Thanksgiving. Fortunately we weren't cooking that year. Alas, when Christmas day came around, we discovered that our oven didn't work--we hadn't tried to use it between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Good luck. It's a horrible ordeal, but then the new kitchn makes you so happy. . .

Love you, Sandra

Ooh, it's going to be so pretty! How exciting! I hope these kitchen-less weeks go by fast. We remodeled our kitchen when Emeline was a baby and I remember it was so SO hard to be without a kitchen! I cooked a lot of crockpot meals in the bathroom for a while (it was really really weird to walk by the bathroom and think, "Wow, it smells GREAT in there!")
I'm excited to see the finished product!
Love you (and miss you!)
