Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to Julia! She made it into All-State Choir! She has been to All-State a couple of other times, but this is a bigger deal, because this is the first time that she has tried out on the high school level, and the try-outs are much more difficult. The competition is a lot stiffer, too. They compete with students from all over the state. Way to go Julia!

They went to Albuquerque for try-outs last Wednesday. She had to sing a solo piece of her choosing as well as an All-State tryout piece that everyone sang. Then, came the most intimidating part...sight-reading. That was the part that worried her the most. She is pretty good at sight-reading, but it can be frightening if you are already nervous, which she was. But, apparently she did OK, because she was selected for a spot in the mixed choir, which is the hardest to get into.

She will go to Albuquerque some time in the first of January for a few days of intensive practice, which will culminate in a concert at the end of the week. We look forward to going down to hear you, Jules! Good work.
