It's about time....

Well, I think that it is about time to post something new on the blog. In fact, I got an e-mail earlier this week suggesting that I should do just that. :) I agree. I just haven't known what to post. It is not like I have a newborn or toddler that does or says cute things all the time. Or like we have traveled anywhere new or exciting.

We have just been making our way through January and February. I find that I seem to sort of retreat in the gray winter months. Christmas and the holidays are over and life is just so much the same, day after day. I don't feel sad or depressed. Just sort of underwhelmed, I guess you could say. So, I find that I write fewer e-mails, etc. and just sort of pull inside myself a little more. I tend to curl up with a blanket and read more. And I tend to recommit to a healthier lifestyle, which usually means trying to make it to the gym as often as possible. And researching new healthy foods to eat, etc. In fact, we have been eating mostly vegetarian since the first of the year. It has been fun and I have been enjoying researching recipes and trying new dishes. I have found some great recipe web-sites. It has paid off for both Scott and I in weight loss. I don't think we have ever eaten better. We are enjoying the variety of foods.

Julia went to the GAG dance last night. GAG stands for Girls Ask Guys. The girls do the asking and the couples wear matching shirts. She asked a boy that she is just getting to know and they had a fun time. They went with another couple and they went to dinner, to the district basketball championship game, to play pool at the other girl's house, out for ice cream and then to the dance. Julia and her date, Danny, wore cowboy shirts/hats. I didn't get to see them together, since she picked him up. I will try to get pictures of them together later. But, this picture is of her as she was ready to head out the door. Prom is next--sometime in April and she has a very cute guy that has told her that he is going to ask her. Now, we'll just wait and see if he follows through. Here's hoping, for her sake. :)

I'll post again later this week and tell you about our upcoming travels. Have a great week.

Yeah! You're still there! I feel similarly about the months between December and March or April... it's cold and we don't go out much and I'm ready for it to be spring! It is fun to hear from you and see cute Julia- she is so beautiful. We hope to see you soon!
